You’re Not Alone! Strange Symptoms of Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

By Adrienne Dellwo, Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Guide – Wednesday September 8, 2010

We get pain. We get fatigue. Exercise wipes us out far too easily. Those are the biggies when it comes to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, but they’re certainly not the full story. We can have dozens of symptoms, and when it comes to some of the really odd ones, we often feel like we’re crazy and we must be the only person in the world who has it.

It’s incredibly comforting, however, when we find out that other people with these conditions have gone through exactly the same thing. Whenever I write about one of the strange ones, I get a flood of comments from people who say, “I thought it was just me!” Here are some of my past blogs dealing with these symptoms, along with the amazing comments people have left in response:

By Michelle Arbore

My list keeps growing as I am getting older:

  • Can’t be touched when I have a flare up
  • Hair Loss
  • Noise Sensitivity
  • Dripping sweat at any given time of the day out of no where
  • Temperature Sensitivity
  • Fragrance Sensitivity
  • Fibro Fog
  • Weak, dizzy, light headed
  • Bruise very easily in places I would never thought I would get a black & blue
  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Low immune system
  • Stomach problems
  • Migraines
  • Weight Gain :( – I have never weighed this much

I’m sure there’s more but that is what comes to mind at the moment.

Which of these problems are you surprised to see here? Did you think you were the only one who was experiencing it? How have you handled these problems? Leave your comments below!

About Michelle Arbore

I am 36 years old, married for 8 years and have an almost 3 year old, Michael Richard. We also have two cats (Anibel & Mama). I own my own social media management and coaching business that allows me to work from home. I like to read, listen to music, take photos, learn new things, shop, watch TV and spend time with family and friends. I also suffer from Fibromyalgia. I have suffered from this disease for over 15 years now. I started my blog so I could have a place to vent about what I am feeling. It has turned into a place where I post information about this disease, talk about books that I am reading about Fibro, and getting to meet other people who suffer from this.

  1. Wow – the lumps and bumps one is interesting. Lumps and bumps of what? Has anyone got a chronic cough and dry throat, by any chance?

Happy to have found your blog as another resource to ease my mind when I am having a flare. Helps ward off a flare up of another syndrome I have, the dreaded Pity Party! :-)

    Be well!

  3. Michelle,

Your blog is great. It’s easy to read, very informative, and the graphics are excellent. Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue are both terrible. Anything you can do with your blog to help others would be fantastic. Keep up the good work.

    All the best,
